Blended Education: What Actually Changes In The Classroom
By Educraftech

Most institutions describe themselves as blended because material is available online. That is distribution, not blending, and it changes very little about what a student can do at the end of the course.
Move transmission out, move practice in
The genuine change is inverting where each activity happens. Definitions, derivations and demonstrations are delivered before class. Class time is then spent on the part students cannot do alone: debugging, designing and defending choices.
Contact time is the scarce resource
An hour in a room with an experienced engineer is worth far more spent on a stuck circuit than on a slide a student could read. Treat that hour as the budget it is.
Assess the practice, not the recall
If the assessment still rewards reproducing a definition, students will optimise for that and ignore the lab. Assessment design decides whether the format change is real.
The failure mode is silence
Pre-class material that nobody watches produces a room that cannot participate. Short, specific, and checked at the door is what makes the rest work.
